Fishing Clear Creek off the breathtaking Talkeetna River

in the Talkeetna Mountains, Alaska.

With shuttle service from the Bear Dance Village and RV Center.

Clear Creek is a popular fishing destination for anglers fishing the Parks Highway during salmon seasons. Jet boat taxis provide drop off fishing services out of the town of Talkeetna and this can be an enjoyable way to experience a little more remote type fishing without going so far as to do a remote float trip on one of Alaska's wild rivers.

Accomodations Rating: Day-trip or Tent Camping. Most people take a jet boat taxi up to Clear Creek to fish for the day and then return. If you wanted to take a tent and stay longer, decent camping exists on the upper side of the Clear Creek confluence with the Talkeetna River.

Access: Relatively Easy. Pay the fee for a jet boat taxi ride up to Clear Creek and well used trails lead you one-half mile up stream where the good sight fishing for kings begins.

Crowds: Light - Moderate. Do to the boat only access to Clear Creek and associated transport fees, there are never excessive crowds fishing the confluence. However, unless you are willing to do a little extra hiking beyond the first half-mile or so, you more than likely will not be alone.
